Nordplus Junior Project “Traditional Flavours with a Modern Twist”
Valga County Vocational Training Centre participates in the Nordplus Junior project NPJR-2025/10025 “Traditional Flavours with a Modern Twist – Preserving and Reinventing Classic Recipes” together with Rezekne Technical School (Latvia) and Ylä-Savo Vocational College (Finland). The project will run from September 2025 to December 2026.
The aim of the project is to bring vocational teachers together to explore and share Baltic and Nordic culinary traditions while giving them a contemporary interpretation. During teacher mobilities, traditional national dishes are introduced and cooked, local ingredients and preparation techniques are studied, and innovative modern versions of classic recipes are created.
Beyond technical skills, the project strengthens intercultural competence, expands teachers’ professional networks, and enriches curricula with innovative methods and international experiences. Students will also benefit by taking part in practical workshops and classes led by visiting teachers, adding diversity and inspiration to their studies.
All project results – including updated recipes and teaching methodologies – will support the improvement of vocational education quality and help shape a more international and attractive learning environment.
