News from the Hack the Border Project: Teams Checked the “Pulse” Before the Final Event
On 28 April, the Hack the Border project teams gathered at Valgamaa Vocational Training Centre for a meeting held under the code name “Pulse”.
The aim of the meeting was to give the teams an opportunity to practise their project presentations before the final event, receive feedback and collect useful tips on how to make their presentations clearer, stronger and more convincing.
The teams presented their ideas, progress and current results. The feedback helped them think through how to present their ideas to the audience in a clear and engaging way, and which strengths should be highlighted more during the final event.
Another exciting piece of news was that at the end of March, a Euronews video about our schools, the Valga-Valka region and the Hack the Border project was broadcast. The video helps to show the importance of cross-border cooperation between young people, schools and the local community.
The “Pulse” event ended at the training restaurant “Taru” of Valgamaa Vocational Training Centre, where first-year cookery students prepared French-style snacks under the guidance of teacher Evelyn Tamm. The snacks were prepared in line with the principles of the Green School programme, with attention paid to sustainability, thoughtful use of ingredients and environmentally conscious practices.
The final event of the Hack the Border project will take place on 7 May at Valka Culture House, starting at 13:00.

Hack the Border projekta jaunumi: komandas pārbaudīja “Pulsu” pirms noslēguma pasākuma
28. aprīlī Valgas Apriņķa Profesionālās izglītības centrā notika Hack the Border projekta komandu tikšanās ar koda nosaukumu “Pulss”.
Tikšanās mērķis bija dot komandām iespēju pirms noslēguma pasākuma izmēģināt savas projektu prezentācijas, saņemt atgriezenisko saiti un iegūt noderīgus ieteikumus, kā padarīt prezentācijas vēl skaidrākas, pārliecinošākas un iedarbīgākas.
Komandas prezentēja savas idejas, paveikto un līdzšinējos rezultātus. Saņemtā atgriezeniskā saite palīdzēja jauniešiem labāk pārdomāt, kā skaidri un saprotami prezentēt savas idejas auditorijai un kuras stiprās puses īpaši izcelt noslēguma pasākumā.
Priecīgs jaunums ir arī tas, ka marta beigās ēterā nonāca Euronews video par mūsu skolām, Valgas-Valkas reģionu un Hack the Border projekta aktivitātēm. Video parāda, cik nozīmīga ir pārrobežu sadarbība jauniešu, skolu un vietējās kopienas starpā.
“Pulsa” pasākums noslēdzās Valgas Apriņķa Profesionālās izglītības centra mācību restorānā “Taru”, kur pirmā kursa pavārmākslas audzēkņi skolotājas Evelyn Tamm vadībā gatavoja franču stila uzkodas. Uzkodu gatavošanā tika ievēroti arī Zaļās skolas principi, pievēršot uzmanību ilgtspējai, pārdomātai izejvielu izmantošanai un videi draudzīgai rīcībai.
Hack the Border projekta noslēguma pasākums notiks 7. maijā Valkas Kultūras namā, sākums plkst. 13.00.
Uz noslēguma pasākumu ir aicināti skolēni, viņu vecāki, skolotāji un visi ar projektu saistītie cilvēki.
