The month of May has started in a very international and active way at Valga County Vocational Training Centre.

Our kitchen assistants and woodworkers had only just returned from Mažeikiai Polytechnic School in Lithuania when new guests arrived in Valga.

Valga County Vocational Training Centre is hosting cookery teachers and students from Kamen-Kashirsky Vocational School in Ukraine, who will take part in the BBQ2026 Junior competition on 8 May.

The international dimension adds special value to the competition and gives students an opportunity to exchange experiences, learn from each other and present their professional skills.

On 4 May, cookery students from Mažeikiai Polytechnic School also arrived in Valga. During their two-week stay, they will complete professional practical training within the Erasmus+ programme.

The placement gives the students an opportunity to develop their vocational skills, learn about Estonian cuisine, work organisation, environmentally sustainable cooking and the learning environment, and gain valuable international experience.
