On 7–8 December, Valga County Vocational Training Centre hosted a transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ project **“Development of Career Guidance Skills for Technology Education Teachers in VET (VET-TechCoach)”** with partners from Estonia, Latvia and Greece. The aim of the meeting was to agree on the content of the project’s career guidance handbook and to plan the next steps of the cooperation.
The work took place in a friendly and productive atmosphere. The partners discussed which topics are most needed by technology and STEM teachers to better support students in planning their future careers, prevent early school leaving and increase motivation.
The **VET-TechCoach** project is very well aligned with the current challenges of Valga County Vocational Training Centre and Rēzekne Technical School: how to keep learners motivated, how to prevent drop-out and how to support a smooth transition from VET to the labour market. Therefore, the project focuses specifically on technology and STEM VET teachers, who often play a key role in guiding students’ career choices.
During the meeting, the guests from Greece and Latvia gained many positive impressions of both the town of Valga and Valga County Vocational Training Centre. They particularly highlighted the modern learning environments and training facilities, as well as the openness and strong commitment of the hosting team.
